Matthew Bonney is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Sheffield developing digital operational platforms for digital twins. His research focuses on software tool development and modeling uncertainty for structural dynamics. This study of uncertainty focuses is utilizing Hyper-Dual numbers for the calculation of numerical derivatives used for aleatoric uncertainty and various modeling of epistemic uncertainty. Additionally, he has an interest in contact/joint mechanics for high consequence systems. He received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (2013) and Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics (2017) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, Matthew was a postdoctoral fellow for the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission and a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Nottingham.
