Mattia graduated from the University of Udine, Italy, in 2014, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After university, he worked one year as a mechanical engineer on designing and analysing subsea systems for the Oil & Gas industry. In 2015, he joined the Signal Processing and Control Group of the ISVR at the University of Southampton, UK, as PhD Student and Marie-Curie fellow in the FP7 ITN ANTARES project, focusing his research on nonlinear strategies for active vibration control of nonlinear systems. He has also been a visiting researcher at Fraunhofer LBF in Darmstadt, Germany, in October – November 2017 under the same Marie-Curie training programme.
Mattia is currently employed as a Senior Research Assistant at ISVR, where he started working on the DigiTwin project since September 2018. His research mainly concerns about the virtual sensing of controlled signals in safety-critical dynamic applications, where multiple redundant sensors are used.
